25th Aug - 27th Aug - Salento, Colombia

">On the 9hr bus ride to Salento (one of Colombias largest coffee regions) we realised going to sample the coffee that it would be like travelling to Scotland by bus to try their Shortbread biscuits which you could probably buy in Tescos!

When we arrived, we were glad we had made the effort to visit – the town was really pretty and the coffee was amazing.

We did a walk one of the days we were there and a coffee tour the next. The coffee tour meant drinking abour five expressos in the space of a couple of hours. We had to get on an overnight bus and I had the shakes with so much caffeine in me and funnily enough didn't sleep very well.

There are army guys like this every where, at first it a bit dodgy seeing so many young boys with huge guns but then you get used to it.
